アラスカ・カトマイ国立公園

Katmai National Park and Preserve is on a peninsula in southern Alaska. The park is known for the many brown bears that are drawn to the abundant salmon in Brooks Falls.

世界最大ブラウン熊保護区で、ブルックス川に繁殖のためにやってくる鮭をハントする姿を間近でみられる場所として知られています。特に滝を逆流し飛び越える鮭たちを狙う姿が、ナショナルジオグラフィックなどで有名ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ🐻

Anchorage – King Salmon

アンカレッジからキングサーモン（地名）

Landed by lovely design airplane 😍

ラブリーなデザインの✈️に乗って到着😍

Most of passengers look like heading there for salmon…. they have fishing  tools, bucket, wearing 🧢, rubber long boots….

鮭釣りシーズンの始まりらしく乗客のほとんどが、釣竿、バケツ、長靴、キャップ🧢。。。

サーモン釣りに出かける大きいアメリカ人だらけのフライトだったよ。

Most of passengers are big guys who go for salmon fishing.

ガラガラのエアポートって、気持ちいいですよね〜〜〜大好き💕

There is no security check at all! They don’t even check the suit cases before boarding 😵❣️

搭乗するにあたり、セキュリティチェック一切なし。スーツケースも、チェックなし。

I assume that they all know that even the those terrorists don’t make a plan to hijack such a airplane flies to the unexplored region.

わざわざアラスカの秘境に飛ぶ小さな飛行機をハイジャックするテロリストもいないだろうということでしょうか。。。平和😍

Then taking a float plane for sanctuary.

さらに秘境へ行くために、小さな水上離着陸のカトマイエアに乗り継ぎます。

It was my coldest experience my whole life when I was waiting to board this floating air craft.

この桟橋に並び登場する際が、🥶今までの人生で経験した一番の寒さ🥶😱。

Even though it was June, it’s still Alaska, such a formidable place here 🥶😱

６月下旬とはいえ、やはりアラスカ。侮れないところです。。。

“Doki-Doki” flight

(“doki doki” is sort of a cute way to say “nervous”.  expression of a heart beeping sounds 💓）

ドキドキのフライト

Arrived 🌞under the blue sky

到着したら、🌞青空😍🌈💕

We all straight to go to the ranger’s office for mandatory short class for all of the visitors for learning how to live in this bear’s territory such as what to do if you see a bear in short distance, no foods…..etc. And yes, I am so glad they educated us!

到着後、レンジャーのオフィス直行。熊に対面した際や、食べ物保持一切禁止などの教育を受講。ショートビデオを見ます。受けててよかった〜〜〜〜😭（強制受講ですが）

Left suit case in the cabin,

I grabbed a camera,  looking for bears, .🐻💕

I was humming♬, “Cute Bears, where are you?”

キャビンにスーツケースを置き、

カメラを📷持って、

早速出かけました。。。「🐻さ〜〜〜ん🐽ルンルン♬」💕

And then, I had a second magnificent experience in this trip.

🐻Magic Moment ・2 🐻

とても穏やかな、川辺の美しいビーチが低い茂みの向こうに見えたので、足取り軽くビーチに向かいました。。。。

両サイドは低い茂みの獣道。途中木々が立ち並んでいて、視界が遮られる箇所もありました。すぐ先のビーチと穏やかな川を目指していました。

近くにイタリア人の男の人が２人同じ方向に歩いていました。。。

すると、前方、すぐそばの茂みから。。。。

He came to the😱 the location where I was standing…

こっちに来る😱。。。。

Two Italian guys and Me, we all keep face at the bear, lower, raised our hands and slowly stepped back….. as we learned from rangers .

隣にいたイタリアの男の人たちも、私も、レンジャーに教えてもらった通り、腰を低くして、顔を背けずに、両手を上げ気味にして（降参ポーズ）ゆっくり後退。。。。

“Hey, you are the boss.  I will give you a way…. “

「あなたがボスです、私は、道をあなた様に譲りますので。。。」

Just like that, “BE HUMBLE to the bear” that’s we learned. (by the way, it’s such a nonsense pretending the “dead” also a bad idea climbing a tree, the bears are such a great tree climber)

というように、「熊にはへり下りましょう」と習いました。（ちなみに、死んだふりは、全くナンセンスで、木に登るのも、全然駄目ダメ〜〜〜、熊さん木登りめっちゃ得意だそうです）

And then, those 2 Italy guys started to run away so fast all of sudden after they talked something fast in Italian….

イタリア人たちが、イタリア語で早口に喋って、そのうち、私よりすごい早足で後退していってしまいました（笑）。。。

When I meet a Black Bear closed by at Kenai, it was like happy feeling was 99% & fear was 1%

Kenai で Black ベア遭遇時は、嬉しさ９９％、恐怖心１％ってところでしたが、

But this brown bear, there are differences to the black bear. First of all, he🐻 and I, both looked at our eyes each other already, and he keeps looking at my camera lens, was bigger than black bear. It was like my fear was 90% and happiness was 10%… but because of this 10% I had, I was able to take these precious pictures 😍

こちらKatmai の Brown ベア、黒熊と違って、初対面から目が合っちゃったし、その後もずっとカメラ目線だし、ブラックベアよりずっと大きかったし、怖さ９０％嬉しさ１０％。。。。でも、その１０％のお陰で、こうして、貴重な思い出の写真を撮ることが出来ました😍

Since I was too exited from beginning, I went back to the lodge to have a cup of tea me to calm down…. I start to walk to the lodge,,,then…

大興奮したので、一回ロッジに戻ってお茶でも飲んで出直そうと、ロッジのエリアに戻って歩いていたら、

OMG but he is adorable 

普通にいすぎ。。。でも、可愛い。。。。

I haven’t even been the famous bear salmon hunting viewing spot yet but I guess this is just a so natural to see them around this place.

まだ、サーモンハンティングで有名な川に行ったわけじゃないのに、その辺にウロウロ居るのが、この辺りの日常だったようです。。。
